Matt & Acquaintances
A band branding for "Matt Burt & the Casual Acquaintances". The client wanted a 60's psychedelic inspired logo for his band, because of this my motivation for the project came from a book titled "The Art of the Fillmore". My process began through sketching and creating my own psychedelic hand lettering. Once I was satisfied with the shapes, I scanned in my work and pieced the letters together through Adobe Illustrator. My final product manifested through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to add the colorful swirls for the mind altering aesthetic.
Flame Altered Minds
This project focuses on the exposure of fire performers as a medium to showcase and promote their talents. Traveling around NY state, I took the photos for the website and interviewed each artist. Currently in progress, I have created a branding for the performer web directory, named “Flame Altered Minds”. To view the directory website click here
The branding symbol is created out of references to fire. Triangles are a symbol for fire or flame in several cultures and customs, some of these being Alchemical, Native American, Feng Shui and Wiccan tradition and practice. The triangle in this symbol also represents the “A” in the world “altered” and with line design I have acheived an “M” shape through two traingles, this represents the words “minds” within the logo.
A data visulaization focusing on the country with the most endangered species. The challenge was to design a peice that was asthetically pleasing while incorporating factual data and graphs.
An app design for a lost and found program. While there are currently lost and found apps on the market, I was assigned to redesign one. The branding was inspired through the concept of a GPS signal. The incorporation of the red tone aids to the feel of urgency through the app, and the searching interface for the lost item is ideal for both long and short distance.
Nosh On is a restaurant branding catering towards vegans. Ultimately the aesthetic should not appear as the cliche vegan outlet. The restaurant’s target is for the everyday person to indulge in what would typically be nonvegan food, some of these items being beer, milkshakes and seitan for fake meat. The branding involved the creation of business cards, stationary designs, menu and the restaurants website.
A digital food magazine created in Adobe InDesign. The goal was to make it interactive through the ability of swiping and tapping your way through the recipes and articles. To create an attribute that was different from your everyday magazine, I incorporated a side menu to tap past and on various recipies.
YWCA Costume Ball
Spirit and Spirits Costume Ball was a benefit event for the Binghamton YWCA. The Ball was catering as a halloween event and I was assigned to design the tickets in a less obvious or tacky halloween fashion. I went towards a 18th Century aesthetic, modernized through the placement of my typography that was divided through clean lines and boxes.
